Parish School of Religion- Children’s religious education is offered for children K-3 through grade 5 Wednesday evenings from September to May for those not enrolled in our Catholic school. Catechetical ministers, aides, music leaders, substitute catechists, and special program coordinators make this possible. A general requirement for a child preparing for a sacrament is that he/she has been actively and regularly attending religious education prior to beginning the sacramental preparation program.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (ages 3-6 and ages 6-9) meets Wednesdays, 6:00-7:40pm or Sundays, 11:30am-1:00pm in the John Neumann Education Wing.
Religious Education (grades 1-5) meets Wednesdays, 6:30-7:40pm in the school.
Catechist Training- This is the chance for the right person to become a teacher in the Parish School of Religion. Learn about your faith and, at the same time, pass on that learning to someone else. Background screening and participating in the online Safe Haven course is required.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word- During the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass, children ages 3-7 who have not yet made their First Communion gather during the readings of the Mass to hear God’s message at their level of understanding.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd- Instruction is provided for 3-9 year olds in the basics of prayer and liturgy. Training for this ministry is required. Click here for more information.
